Radiation Survey Equipment
Radiation detectors verify the presence of radiation and measure its intensity.
Our Ludlum Model 3 radiation survey meter is a handheld analog ratemeter known for its accuracy and is packaged in a rugged transport and storage case.
The survey meter front-panel controls include a rotary switch for selecting the four-decade range, instrument shut-off, a battery test, an audio on/off switch, a fast/slow response switch, and a count reset button. A detector cable is also provided that is equipped with special connectors designed to prevent quick or accidental disconnection of the detectors in the field.
CS Consulting has two different radiation detectors that are available for rent and can be used with the survey meter.
Gamma Detector
The gamma detector is primarily used for detecting low level, wide-energy gamma radiation.
Alpha-Beta-Gamma Detector
This pancake-type probe is one of the most popular radiation detectors. This detector is sensitive to alpha, beta, and gamma radiation and has a rugged metal housing that is conveniently shaped and sized for checking contamination on various objects.
Our radiation survey equipment is available to be rented on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. If your team doesn’t know how to effectively use these radiation detectors, please be sure to schedule our NORM Survey Class for your team BEFORE sending them out to perform NORM testing.
We also offer NORM Surveys where we can come to your location and perform the radiation survey for you. For more information on NORM Surveys, visit our NORM Surveys page.
